Strategic Plan

The Scottsbluff Public Schools Strategic Plan is a document that is intended to capture the priorities
in place to increase student success throughout the District. The plan is aligned to the domains and tenets of AQuESTT, the Nebraska Department of Education system for accreditation and accountability, and establishes priorities in each of three critical areas:

  1. Leadership

  2. Success, Access and Support

  3. Teaching, Learning and Serving

The goals in this plan were established after a lengthy analysis of our current student performance data; and many hours of work by District staff and school-based groups. It reflects a clear and directly stated commitment of accountability on behalf of SBPS staff - all of whom are inpidually and collectively focused upon the important work we do for students.

While this is a three-year plan, we anticipate that student needs and community interests will evolve over time, so our district and schools will annually review the progress toward these goals and make adjustments if needed. The work is ongoing and benchmarks of progress will be reported to the Board of Education annually. Additionally, all schools are developing their own document that identifies specific targets of their own that will address the same priorities in a manner specific to their own students' needs and are consistent with the systemic districtwide Strategic Plan. These school-based documents are available on each school's webpage.

We welcome community feedback on both the district Strategic Plan and the building level targets. Please feel welcome to contact any staff member with questions or ideas.
