Information for Parents

You are an important partner in your child's education. You were your child's first teacher; you spend a great deal of time with your child in multiple environments; and you know your child the best. For these reasons, strong communication between school and home are essential.

Equally important to communication, is the ability to advocate for your child. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) empowers parents to become educational advocates for their children. An educational advocate is a person who speaks knowledgeably for the educational needs of another person.
